By accessing and using Perfect Note Lab ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

1.2 What We Do

Perfect Note Lab is an AI-powered writing assistant designed to transform raw text into professional communication. We strive to provide a reliable and high-quality service. However, please understand that the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" to ensure we can continue offering it sustainably.

1.3 Your Commitments

To keep Perfect Note Lab safe and useful for everyone, you agree to:

• Provide accurate information when signing up.
• Keep your account credentials secure (you are responsible for activity under your account).
• Use the Service in compliance with laws and regulations.
• Refrain from using the Service for illegal, harmful, or abusive purposes.
• Respect the integrity of our tech (no hacking, scraping, or reverse engineering).

1.4 Our Liability Limits

We work hard to ensure our AI produces great results, but technology isn't perfect. Therefore:

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

• Perfect Note Lab is provided without implied warranties.
• We are not liable for indirect damages, lost profits, or data loss arising from your use of the tool.
• Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the last 12 months.

Important: You are the final editor. We do not guarantee the accuracy of AI-generated content, and you remain solely responsible for reviewing and verifying it before use.

1.5 AI Content Disclaimer

Think of our AI as a smart drafter, not a replacement for human judgment. We cannot guarantee that the output will always be accurate, appropriate, or fit for your specific needs. By using the Service, you acknowledge that you are responsible for reviewing, editing, and approving all content before using it professionally or personally.

1.6 Subscription & Withdrawal Right

• Billing: Subscriptions are billed on a monthly basis.
• Immediate Access & Withdrawal: By subscribing, you request immediate access to Perfect Note Lab. Consequently, you explicitly waive your right of withdrawal (the 14-day cooling-off period applicable in the EU) so you can start using the Service right away.
• Cancellation: You are free to cancel anytime via your settings. Your access will continue until the end of the current monthly billing cycle.
• Refunds: Because access is immediate, we generally do not offer refunds for partial months or unused quotas, unless required by applicable law.
• Changes: We may adjust pricing, but we promise to give you at least 30 days' notice.
• Security: Payments are securely processed by Stripe; we do not store your credit card details.

1.7 Account Suspension

We value having you as a user. However, to protect our community and business, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, engage in fraud, or for other critical reasons, at our sole discretion.

1.8 Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Perfect Note Lab, its owners, employees, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these terms.

2. Privacy Policy

2.1 Data Collection

We collect the following information:

• Account Information: Email address, name, and authentication data
• Usage Data: AI request counts, subscription status, and feature usage
• Technical Data: IP address, browser type, and device information
• Content Data: Text you input for AI processing (temporarily, not stored long-term)

2.2 Data Usage

We use your data to:

• Provide and improve the Service
• Process your AI requests and manage your account
• Send important service updates and notifications
• Prevent fraud and ensure security
• Comply with legal obligations

2.3 How We Secure Your Data

Your privacy is our priority.

• Storage: Data is hosted on secure, GDPR-compliant European servers.
• Encryption: We use industry-standard encryption for data at rest and in transit.
• No Training: We do NOT use your input text to train our AI models.
• Ephemeral Processing: We do NOT store your input text after the processing is complete.
• Compliance: We process data strictly according to European data protection regulations.

This Application uses AI models with a Zero Data Retention (ZDR) policy. Your data is:

• Never stored or retained by AI providers
• Never used for model training
• Immediately deleted after processing
• Only temporary in-memory caching may occur for performance optimization, without permanent data retention

This applies only to AI processing. All notes are securely stored in our cloud backend for all users.

2.4 Data Sharing

We do NOT sell your personal data. We may share data only with:

• Service Providers: Firebase (Google), Stripe (payments), OpenRouter (AI processing)
• Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights

2.5 Your Rights (GDPR)

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Export your data
• Withdraw consent at any time
• Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

2.7 Data Retention

We retain your account data as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where required by law.

3.1 Intellectual Property & Ownership

• Your Content: You retain all rights to your original input.
• AI Output: We claim no intellectual property rights over the content generated for you. It is yours to use.
• Responsibility: Since AI generates text based on patterns, we cannot be held responsible for copyright or legal issues arising from the specific content generated.

3.2 Changes to Terms

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. We will notify you of significant changes via email.

3.3 Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of France. However, if you are an individual consumer residing outside of France (e.g., in the UK, US, or another EU country), you may still benefit from the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence. We aim to resolve any disputes amicably, but if necessary, they will be handled by the competent courts.
